Recycle Works Limited (RWL) is a post-consumer product recycler headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria. Since its establishment in 2013, the company's primary objective has been to convert post-consumer nylon and plastic products into resins that can be blended with virgin resins to manufacture new products. This approach helps to address the issues of littering and pollution caused by used plastic shopping bags and water sachets (popularly known as "pure water") in Nigeria. Our operations processes up to 50 tons of plastic waste into pellets for resale. We anticipate we will expand to over 200 tons monthly in 18 months with an aggressive growth plan.
Over the years, RWL has expanded its operations to include the conversion of hard-to-recycle plastic waste into plastic lumber and furniture. This expansion presents an opportunity for RWL to enhance circular economy participation by ensuring that single-use plastics are converted into secondary processes that minimize their pollution impact. Waste that cannot be converted to pellets due to lower quality or difficulty to recycle, is directed to our lumber processing area where it is turned into plastic lumber. This lumber can then be turned into a variety of products, including school furniture, pallets, industrial bins, etc.
Additionally, RWL has established a new division that converts agricultural waste into high-quality charcoal. This business is focused on turning food waste into charcoal for local use and export. With the high rate of burning and indiscriminate disposal of agricultural food waste in Nigeria, RWL has identified an opportunity to further make recycling work. We source Rice husk, coconut Shells, and Sawdust for processing areas and then convert them into high-quality charcoal briquettes.
